Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Mr. Lau is a product of Punahou School and the University of California, Los Angeles, and has worked in the financial industry for such companies as Dean Witter Reynolds and Bank of Hawaii. He has served on the board of directors of Hawaii Angels, an angel investment group, Hawaii Venture Capital Association (HVCA), the American Heart Association, and the Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF). He is also on the advisory board for the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Hawaii, and a director and member of the International Committee for the Producers Guild of America (PGA).
Since founding TalkStory Productions, LLC in 2004, Mr. Lau was a finalist in Sundance Institute's Creative Producing Lab & Fellowship, selected writer for HIFF's Creative Lab Writers Accelerator, a finalist in the Shore feature screenwriting contest, a finalist in the ScreenCraft Pilot Launch TV Script Contest, invited to present his film project at the Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFFCOM), and the Kyoto Filmmakers Lab - MASTERS SESSION. He was honored as one of 20 people to watch for the next 20 years by Hawaii Business Magazine.
Mr. Ching has had a passion for the film industry for over 25 years. He is a graduate of Punahou School, Claremont McKenna College, and has obtained an MBA from Pepperdine University. He has worked with several Los Angeles producers and most recently spent his last five years as a post-production coordinator. He has recently moved back to Hawaii to manage TalkStory Productions.
Ms. Lau is a graduate of Punahou School and the University of Southern California's Business School. She has worked in the IT departments of Hawaii National Bank and First Hawaiian Bank before joining TalkStory Productions.
